FAQ

The questions we get most often.

Everything from "how much does it cost" to "can I bring my falcon" — answered the way our concierge would answer in person.

Pricing & cost

  • How much does a private jet cost?+

On-demand charter starts around $4,500 / hr for a Light jet (Phenom 300E, Citation CJ3+) and runs to $17,500+ / hr for an Ultra-Long-Range jet (Global 7500, G650ER). A typical 4-hour midsize trip lands around $32,000–$38,000 all-in including fuel surcharge, FET and concierge fee.

  • How much does a private jet cost per hour?+

Indicative hourly rates: Light $4,500, Midsize $6,500, Super-Mid $8,500, Heavy $11,500, Ultra-Long $17,500. Members at Elite tier and above lock these rates for the year and pay no fuel surcharges.

  • How much does it cost to rent a private jet for a day?+

    A full-day charter on a midsize jet typically runs $40,000–$55,000 including a 10-hour day-rate plus repositioning. Round-trips are almost always cheaper than a one-way.

  • Is it cheaper to fly private to Dubai or commercial first class?+

Per-person, commercial first class is cheaper. For a family of four or a small team, private starts to make sense around the 4-passenger mark on most international routes — and almost always wins on time.

  • How much is a private jet from Dubai to London?+

Approximately $84,500–$110,000 on a Global 6000 or G650ER for a 7-hour overnight flight. Empty legs in this market regularly list at $42,000–$54,000.

Booking & charter

  • How do I book a private jet?+

Three ways: (1) request a quote on this site — concierge response in 30 minutes; (2) call our 24/7 line; (3) join an AeroPrime jet card and book at your locked rate from the member dashboard.

  • How quickly can I fly?+

From Dubai, Abu Dhabi, London or New York, we can typically have wheels-up within two to three hours of confirmation, subject to crew rest and slot availability.

  • Do I need to book a return?+

No. We frequently fly one-ways. If you book a same-day or next-day return, you'll typically save 15–25% versus two separate one-ways.

  • What is an empty leg?+

When an aircraft has flown a chartered leg and has to reposition empty for its next assignment, we list that empty repositioning as a discounted one-way — usually 30–60% off normal charter pricing.

Onboard experience

  • Is there wifi on a private jet?+

Yes — wifi is standard on 92% of our heavy and ultra-long-range fleet, with typical streaming-grade speeds of 3–8 Mbps. Iridium voice on every aircraft.

  • Can I bring my pet on a private jet?+

Yes — dogs, cats, falcons, horses (in dedicated stalls on heavy aircraft), and exotic species are accepted on most operators in our network.

  • Can I smoke on a private jet?+

Some operators permit cigar smoking on their own ferry flights but not on charter. We'll match you to a smoking-permitted operator on request — note this typically limits aircraft choice.

  • How much luggage can I bring?+

Cabin-class allowances are typically 7–9 standard suitcases per passenger. Heavy and ultra-long-range cabins accommodate skis, surfboards, golf bags and trunks.

  • Is the food good?+

Standing menus from Le Cordon Bleu, Nobu, Roia and the Address Hotels group. Halal kitchen by default for Gulf departures. Bespoke menus need 6 hours' notice.

Safety & operators

  • Are private jets safe?+

Statistically, FAA Part 135 charter under ARGUS Platinum / Wyvern Wingman audited operators has comparable safety performance to scheduled commercial aviation. AeroPrime exclusively flies these top-tier operators.

  • Who actually operates the aircraft?+

Aircraft are owned and crewed by FAA Part 135 air carriers (or local equivalents). AeroPrime acts as an agent — we vet operators quarterly and only book ARGUS Platinum or Wyvern Wingman audited carriers.

  • What is ARGUS Platinum?+

An independent third-party safety audit at the highest tier. ARGUS Platinum requires a Safety Management System, two operational audits including an on-site, and historical incident-free flight data.

Comparison

  • Private jet vs commercial — what's the difference?+

Three differences that matter: (1) you fly your schedule, not the airline's; (2) you board in 5–15 minutes from a private terminal, not 90; (3) you fly into smaller airports closer to where you're actually going.

  • Private jet vs helicopter — when does each make sense?+

Helicopters win for trips under ~150 nm and door-to-door city transfers. Private jets win for anything longer, anything overwater, and anything that needs a stand-up cabin.

  • Is a jet card worth it?+

If you're flying 25+ hours a year in a single cabin class, a jet card pays back its float through fuel-surcharge waivers and rate-locks alone. Below 25 hours, on-demand charter is more efficient.

Aircraft & ownership

  • How much does a private jet cost to buy?+

New: $5M (Light, Phenom 100EV) to $90M+ (Global 7500, G650ER). Pre-owned: typically 30–60% of new price depending on age, hours and pedigree. Whole-aircraft ownership is usually only sensible above 350 flight hours per year.

  • What is fractional ownership?+

You buy a share of a specific aircraft (typically 1/16th to 1/2). Fractional makes sense between 50 and 350 hours per year. Below 50, a jet card; above 350, whole ownership.

  • Can AeroPrime help me buy a jet?+

Yes — through our Aircraft Sales desk. We represent buyers on pre-owned acquisitions, manage pre-buy inspections, and negotiate purchase agreements with delivery support.
